What is a Spagyric?

A spagyric is an herbal extract made by mimicking the biogeochemical cycles of our earth.

Spagyric tinctures are triple-extracts made through a traditional method that works with the full chemistry of the plant. In addition to extracting the alcohol-soluble compounds and aromatic oils, the mineral fraction of the plant is also recovered and returned to the extract. This brings together both the organic compounds and the trace minerals that were originally part of the plant’s life. Plants build their chemistry by drawing elements from soil, water, and air through the biogeochemical cycles of the Earth. In the spagyric process, the steps of extraction, transformation, and recombination echo these same natural cycles, reflecting how matter continually moves through phases of breakdown and renewal in living systems.

An essential understanding: plants hold not only physical healing compounds that we can identify through a phytochemistry lens, but also the plants lead their own significant and intellectual lives that are just as curious as our own.

How a Spagyric is Made

Each spagyric is created through a process that works with extracting more traditionally referred to as: the Tri Prima.

  • Sulfur (Acidic) Carried in the aromatic oils & VOC’s.

  • Mercury (Neutral) The alcohol (ethanol) that extracts and preserves

  • Salt (Alkali) The crystalized mineral salt found in plants (potassium carbonate and other trace minerals).

These three are separated, and then reunited in a particular way.

Why Spagyrics?

In the spagyric process, compounds are created, extracted and reintroduced back into the medicine that creates a more full-spectrum, potent tincture. Through our labors of love, we take all parts of the plant, while honoring the very real and important intellectual and spiritual life lived of that plant, and create true full spectrum extracts.

Spagyric remedies are not just chemical balance but also a relational harmony.
